DESTINATION: COLOMBO.                                                            

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR (31 KM)

You will arrive at the Bandaranaike International airport (CMB) where our airport representative & chauffeur guide will await you at the arrival lounge to welcome you. Once you settle with your baggage’s you will transfer to the commercial hub of Sri Lanka, Colombo, which is the dawn of a new era of transformation to become the wonder city of Asia.

Once you check in at your hotel rest of the day remain free for you to recover from any jet lag. If the time permits and only if you are to get around, your chauffeur will continue with sightseeing and shopping tour in Colombo.

OVERNIGHT STAY: HOTEL IN COLOMBO.

DESTINATION: ANURADHAPURA.                                                               

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 5 HOURS (206 KM) – COLOMBO TO ANURADHAPURA

After breakfast check out from the hotel, and proceed to the sacred ancient city of Anuradhapura, one of UNESCO world heritage site. The first capital city in Sri Lanka founded by King Pandukabhaya and the seat of government for centuries, is symbolic of the golden era of Sri Lanka.

Surrounded by the sections of ancient parkland, tall dagobas religious and secular art and architecture, carvings and sculpture, paintings and inscription, you will feel the glory of Anuradhapura had 15 centuries back. More highlight of the city would be the ‘Sri Maha Bodhi’ or the sacred Bo tree which is over 2200 years old grown from a branch of the very tree under which “The Buddha” attained enlightenment – it is the oldest historically documented tree in the world.

DESTINATION: SIGIRIYA

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY ½ AN HOUR (20 KM) – DAMBULLA TO SIGIRIYA

After completion of Dambulla tour we are heading to Sigiriya, or as you know “The Lions Rock”. You’ll enjoy panoramic views of jungles from the palace top the rock. This fortress was a Royal Citadel for more than 18 years and the story behind it replete with legends, love and betrayals. But one story remains, the story of Kasyapa (477–495 A. D.) Its creator, King with an artist’s soul. Famous frescoes of the “Heavenly maidens” of Sigiriya and the 10 foot high Mirror Wall are few to admire.

DESTINATION: HABARANA

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY ½ AN HOUR (16 KM) – SIGIRIYA TO HABARANA

Final stop of the day at Habarana, central location for all the ancient city sites. Habarana is well known among tourists and locals alike because of the safari rides in the nearby Habarana national park which has a huge population of Elephants. Luxurious nature friendly hotels are also attracting more tourist to this unique city.

DESTINATION: MIHINTALE

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY ½ AN HOUR (20 KM) – ANURADHAPURA TO MIHINTALE

After breakfast our visit will be to the place Buddhism was embraced into the lives of ancient Sri Lankans, Mihintale. Sitting high on a rock, the temple and the Buddha statue are a sporty affair to reach, but well worth the effort as you stand in a place of such historic importance it is impossible to value. With breathtaking surroundings of the country side and calmness of the temple will definitely relax your soul.

DESTINATION: AUKANA TEMPLE

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR (50 KM) – MIHINTALE TO AUKANA TEMPLE

After completion proceed to Aukana Temple. Highlight of this visit would be to see the tallest ancient Buddha statue in Sri Lanka. . The statue stands 12m high, carved from a single rock and is completely free standing. This statue considers as one of Sri Lanka’s most perfect and elegant statue and how well it is crafted that raindrops will flow down vertically and land right between the feet of the statue.

DESTINATION: HABARANA

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR (42 KM) – AUKANA TEMPLE TO HABARANA

Final stop of the day at Habarana, central location for all the ancient city sites. It’s time to wake up a little early to hike the Sigiriya, or as you know “The Lions Rock”. Best time to visit the rock is early morning, about 6.30 am as the gates open. This enables you to climb the rock before the crowds arrive and the heat of the sun gets to you. You’ll enjoy panoramic views of jungles from the palace top the rock. DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 ½ HOURS (57 KM) – SIGIRIYA TO POLONNARUWA

After completion of Sigiriya tour your journey will be headed to another UNESCO World Heritage City, Polonnaruwa. The second most ancient city in Sri Lanka and was the seat of power of many powerful kings. The city holds extremely well preserved ruins of ancient palaces and temples from several different dynasties and is known today to be one of the best planned archeological relic sites in the country. The museum, ruins and the Minneriya tank situated in close proximity presents an ideal chance for the guests to be familiar with the history and the culture of Srilanka

OVERNIGHT STAY: HOTEL IN POLONNARUWA.

DESTINATION: DAMBULLA.                                                

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 ½ HOUR (70KM) – POLONNARUWA TO DAMBULLA

You are middle of your journey and we are travelling towards the middle of the country Kandy via visiting the most magnificent of rock-temples of this island, Dambulla Rock Temple. It is a vast isolated rock mass 500 ft. high and a mile round the base. The panorama from the summit of this rock is breathtaking 350 ft. above are a series of five caves turned into shrines. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 sq. meters) are of particular importance as well as the 157 statues including a 47 foot long statue of the recumbent Buddha. The ceiling too is covered with frescoes which depict great events in the life of the Buddha, and landmarks in the history of the Sinhala people.

DESTINATION: KANDY

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 2 HOUR (70KM) – DAMBULLA TO KANDY

Afterward, head on to the city known as country’s cultural capital, Kandy. You will check in at your hotel to have a rest and this beautiful city in the hills is ideal for relaxing and reflecting. The City is home to the tooth relic of the Lord Buddha and it is housed in the famous ‘Dalada Maligawa’ or ‘Sacred Temple of the Tooth’, which attracts thousands to the city every year including devotees as well as visitors who come to marvel at the beautiful architecture of the temple. Kandy is also home to many other old temples and other landmarks, including the amazing Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Once you have a good rest, in the Evening you will visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. Thereafter enjoy the Kandyan Cultural show which features the country’s rich culture & tradition with a very vibrant and unique show of Sri Lankan traditional dancers and drummers.

DESTINATION: ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE                             

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 ½ HOURS (50KM) KANDY TO PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

Today after breakfast we will visit the Elephant orphanage. Thousands of tourists visit this Elephant orphanage every day, as this kind orphanage is one of the rare establishments in the World. This orphanage was set up by the wildlife department of Sri Lanka to take care of baby elephants lost or abandoned in the wild or elephants who injured by falling into pits and wells as well with gunshot injuries created by farming communities. Today there are about 65 such elephants in this orphanage. Their feeding time and daily bath in the river nearby is a must watch in this visit.

Daily feeding times – 9.15 am, 1.15 pm, and 5.00 pm.

Bathing times – 10.00 am, 2.00 pm, and 4.00 pm.

DESTINATION: NUWARA ELIYA

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS (110KM) PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE TO NUWARA ELIYA

On completion, back to the road once again, but this ride will never forget as you will mesmerize by breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains, waterfalls and greenery surrounded by hills and tea plantations on the way to the town of Nuwara Eliya. After you check in to the hotel rest of the day remain you to relax in coolest whether in Sri Lanka.

DESTINATION: HORTON PLAINS & NUWARA ELIYA CITY TOUR.

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 1 ½ HOURS (30 KM) – NUWARA ELIYA TO HORTON PLAINS

After an early breakfast this morning is to visit the “World’s End”, the highest plateau in the country, The Horton plains. With an altitude above 7000ft, the plateau sweeps to a robust 3169 hectares sheltering flora and fauna varieties that may be found nowhere else on planet earth. Pictures scenarios will mesmerize you and it is a heaven for photography.

After completion we are back to Nuwara Eliya for city tour. Main attractions of the town includes the golf course, trout streams, Victoria Park, and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory. You can also visit a working tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe tea. You can also add Seetha Eliya and Haggala Gardens according to your preference.

OVERNIGHT STAY: HOTEL IN NUWARA ELIYA.

DESTINATION: YALA NATIONAL PARK.                                                          

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 5 HOURS (160 KM) – NUWARA ELIYA TO YALA.

After breakfast proceed to Yala. En route we will stop for Sightseeing some of amazing sceneries and waterfalls.

Once you reach Yala, check in to the hotel and evening session will be a Safari ride to the Yala National Park. This is the second biggest national park in Sri Lanka and arguably the most rewarding. Mostly famed for leopard and one of the best places in the world to watch them year round. Yala is said to be home to one of the highest concentrations of these illusive cats. Another highlight is Elephant in small & large herds, Herds of spotted deer also can see all over the park. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, and king-fisher & wood pecker are some of the birds can be seen in the park.

OVERNIGHT STAY: HOTEL IN YALA.

DESTINATION: BENTOTA VIA GALLE.                                         

DRIVE: APPROXIMATELY 6 HOURS (240 KM) –YALA TO BENTOTA.

Today will be the longest drive in our journey, you will pass by the famous cities of Mirissa, Tangalle, Unwatuna and Galle prior reaching Bentota. Bentota is famed as the prime beach resort of the south-western and southern coastal belts of Sri Lanka.

On the way we will stop at Galle for a city tour. This city holds the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Apart from that some of the main attractions are the city’s Natural Harbor, National Maritime Museum, St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Galle International Stadium.

After the completion we will head back to Bentota.
